Storage
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks (if made with powdered sugar or maple syrup) and 4-5 days if made with honey*.
Store anything that the drizzle is on in the refrigerator.
*We haven’t been able to figure out why (we searched all over for an answer), but any time we mix honey with a dairy product, it only lasts a couple days before it starts to turn sour. We’ve seen it with honey butter, honey cream cheese frosting and this cream cheese glaze. We still use it but make sure we won’t be needing to store it for very long.
How to Freeze
Freeze in an airtight freezer safe container or bag for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight or for a few hours.
Tips From Our Kitchen
Adjust the sweetness to suit your taste by adding more if needed.
Use softened cream cheese to avoid a lumpy glaze.
If you do end up with lumps of cream cheese you can fix it by microwaving your glaze for 3-4 seconds and then beating out the lumps with a hand mixer or whisk.
